With support from the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation, DEMFORUM NGO delivered Strong Stories, a series of 12 television programmes about Ukrainian families raising children with disabilities.
Each episode told the story of a family navigating the daily challenges of raising and supporting a child’s social inclusion, while creating opportunities for other families as well as their own. The project’s protagonists launched educational, artistic and social initiatives, helped other parents and developed communities of mutual support.
The project aimed to share practical experience among families, build connections and mutual assistance, and raise public awareness of inclusion and the rights of people with disabilities.
Through personal examples, Strong Stories showed how support, self-organisation and compassion can help families overcome difficult circumstances and bring change to their communities.
