With support from the US Embassy in Ukraine’s Media Development Fund, DEMFORUM NGO delivered Saturday Political Club, a series of 20 television programmes hosted by Vitaliy Portnykov.
The weekly talk show covered major political, social and security developments in Ukraine and around the world, including Russia’s war against Ukraine, the work of state institutions, significant legislative initiatives and international support for Ukraine.
Journalists, experts, government officials and civil society representatives joined the broadcasts. The format combined analytical discussions, explanations of the week’s key events and audience engagement.
The project aimed to provide Ukrainian and international viewers with systematic, accessible information on political, socioeconomic and security developments in Ukraine.
Sustainability was an important outcome. The format continued after the grant funding ended: Saturday Political Club is still broadcast on Espreso TV and remains a platform for discussing key political, social and security issues.
