The Stanisław Vincenz Center is planned for construction in the Carpathians

In the Ukrainian Carpathians, an ultra-modern Center for Intercultural Dialogue named after Stanisław Vincenz has been designed and is planned for construction. It will be built in the village of Kryvorivnia, Ivano-Frankivsk region.

The development of project documentation became possible thanks to the project’s victory in the Contest of initiatives of local Carpathian communities. The project submitted by the Verkhovyna District Council was recognized as the winner by the Association of Local Self-Governing Bodies “Euroregion Carpathians – Ukraine” and received funding for its implementation.

The project documentation was developed by Antonina Kaplya and Denys Zadniprovskyi, young architects from the Tseh group.

The main goal is to build a modern building in a minimalist style, which will be natural for the surrounding environment.

“We chose a wooden facade for the entrance to the building, which echoes the architecture of the Carpathians. Before starting work on the project, we studied local architecture, traveled around the village of Kryvorivnia. We wanted to make the building both modern and in such a way that it would not stand out from the local architecture.”

– says Antonina Kaplya, the author of the architectural project of the Stanisław Vincenz Center.

Local specialists are planned to be involved in the work, and the center itself will be built from local materials: wood and corrugated metal roofs.

According to the designers, the center should be interesting not only to schoolchildren, cultural figures and journalists. It should become a tourist attraction that will be visited by Ukrainian and foreign tourists. For this, the latest technologies will be used.

The center should open for visitors in 2020.

The project is implemented within the framework of the Program to support the initiatives of local Carpathian communities, which is implemented by the Association “Euroregion Carpathians – Ukraine” and is financed with the funds of the regional budgets of the Lviv, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi regions, the company DTEK, PJSC “Oscar Morshinsky Zavod Mineral Water”.

A meeting of screenwriters of the upcoming film “Vincenz” took place in Kyiv

A working meeting of the screenwriters of the future full-length feature film “Vincenz” took place in the capital.

The meeting between Nataliya Vorozhbyt – the author of the script of the film “Cyborgs”, laureate of the “Golden Spindle” 2017, as well as Maxim Kurochkin and the professor of Lublin University, Myroslava Oldakovska-Kufel, lasted more than three hours. They discussed the details of the writer’s biography and the vicissitudes of his life, which will help to enrich and intensify the storylines. Professor Oldakovska-Kufel took scientific supervision over the work of the group of screenwriters and agreed to continue advising the team.

“We sat down in a cozy cafe with a cup of green tea and Ms. Miroslava in a low voice, with trepidation and eyes full of admiration began to tell about someone very close and dear to her – about Stas. The playwrights asked: “What kind of Stas?”. It was about Stanisław Vincenz. Indeed, it was strange to hear about a majestic figure in such a direct, intimate way, but thanks to this conversation, a living earthly figure began to emerge before our eyes, with its flaws and quirks. Vincenz became closer – the way he was not only on the pages of works, but also in the walls of his own house, and in crisis situations, such as imprisonment, death of loved ones or divorce from his first wife. I have no doubt that playwrights will be able to bring this outstanding figure closer to all of us,” said translator and journalist Nataliya Petraniuk, who was present during the meeting.

The tape “Vincenz” will tell about the author of the unique Hutsul epic “On the High Uplands” Stanisław Vincenz (1888-1971). The fate of Stanisław Vincenz is extremely cinematic – the grandson of an oil tycoon, a Pole of French origin, a student of Sigmund Freud, he lives at the edge of the world in a Hutsul hut and reads Homer every day. Vincenz writes his own Verkhovyna “Iliad and Odyssey”, and then he himself, like Odysseus, is forced to flee from the Carpathians through the Black Mountain Range to Hungary, escaping from the Soviet authorities, accompanied by a molfar. In the last years of his life in Lausanne, Switzerland, Vincenz saves the Nobel laureate Czeslaw Milosz from suicide, and also hosts brilliant European intellectuals of the 20th century in his Hutsul house in La Combe.

We will remind you that the idea of creating the script for the film “Vincenz” belongs to the NGO “All-Ukrainian Democratic Forum”. The project is implemented with the financial support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation. The film should be released in 2019-2020.
