Filming of the dramatised scenes of the film about Olherd Bochkovskyi has begun in the capital. The project is implemented by the NGO “Demforum” with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation.

The tape will tell about the life of an outstanding scientist with Ukrainian roots, who opposed Soviet propaganda and defended the Ukrainian people. This is a documentary-biography with elements of journalistic investigation.

“Bochkovsky, he warned about the Russian invasion. Everything he wrote or said on the radio at that time is still relevant. 100 years have passed, and we are back where we were… The goal is to bring back the name of the outstanding Ukrainian Olherd Bochkovskyi, who, unfortunately, has been forgotten,” said the author of the script and director Hryhoriy Rudenko.

The tape will be of a mixed type: there are reconstructions involving professional actors, a presenter, archival materials and interviews with experts.

Actor Artem Vilbik, who plays Olherd Bochkovskyi, said that when he got acquainted with the script, he felt how the present is intertwined with the past.

“Those events are very seriously intertwined with what is happening in Ukraine now. They resonate a lot. And this was probably the impetus for me to agree and work on this role,” said the actor.

Filming will continue until the end of October in various regions of Ukraine and in two cities in the Czech Republic. And the premiere will take place in December, on the Espreso TV channel.

The project is implemented with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation.
