{"id":6136,"date":"2026-10-27T00:53:50","date_gmt":"2026-10-26T22:53:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/na.sofard.dev\/?post_type=project&#038;p=6136"},"modified":"2026-10-30T17:04:39","modified_gmt":"2026-10-30T15:04:39","slug":"vincenz-library-return","status":"publish","type":"project","link":"https:\/\/na.sofard.dev\/en\/projects\/vincenz-library-return\/","title":{"rendered":"The Return of Stanis\u0142aw Vincenz\u2019s Library"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"is-style-lead wp-block-paragraph\">On the initiative of Mykola Kniazhytskyi, the private library of Polish writer, philosopher and scholar of the Hutsul region Stanis\u0142aw Vincenz, known as the \u201cHomer of the Hutsul region\u201d, was returned to Ukraine.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The collection of almost 1,000 rare volumes was purchased in Germany with funds provided by Mykola Kniazhytskyi. It includes unique editions of works by Homer, Dante, Shakespeare and Plato, as well as books bearing autographs and dedications by prominent European intellectuals and Vincenz\u2019s contemporaries.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In February 2021, part of the library was displayed at the \u201cVincenz. Library\u201d exhibition at the Lviv Historical Museum.
