The Verkhovna Rada opened an exhibition about the Polish philosopher who wrote the world-famous epic about the Hutsul region. On Tuesday, November 6, the chairman of the Committee on Culture and Spirituality, People’s Deputy of Ukraine, Mykola Kniazhytskyi opened the Ukrainian version of the exhibition “Dialogue about fate and soul. Stanis\u0142aw Vincenz (1888-1971)”.<\/p>\n

\n

“It is very important for us to open together with representatives of the Polish Seimas an exhibition about the Polish philosopher who wrote the world-famous epic about the Hutsul region.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

– he emphasized.<\/p>\n

The exhibition is dedicated to Stanis\u0142aw Vincenz – a philosopher of Polish origin, a righteous man of the world, the author of the book “On the High Uplands” – the only Ukrainian epic about the Hutsuls.<\/p>\n

“In this work, for the first time, all the legends, myths and retellings of the history of Hutsul region are collected. No one has described the Hutsul region like Vincenz. And when he fled through the mountains from the Soviet occupation in 1940, the only thing he took with him was a manuscript about the life of the Hutsuls, which he continued to write even in exile. And we are very pleased to open this exhibition today together with representatives of the Polish Seimas, members of the group on inter-parliamentary relations with the Republic of Poland.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

– said the head of the Committee on Culture and Spirituality.<\/p>\n

In turn, the author of the exhibition “Dialogue about fate and soul” – literary critic, lecturer at the Institute of Polish Philology of the University of Wroclaw, Doctor of Sciences Jan Andrzej Khoroshy – said that it was presented in Poland for the first time in 2014. The exposition is a biographical story about Stanis\u0142aw Vincenz against the background of the landscapes of the Hutsul region. The exhibition “Dialogue about fate and soul” was created on the basis of documents and photographs from the family archives of the families of Vincenz and the Italian photographer Lidio Cipriani, the funds of the Ossolinski National Library, the Ethnographic Museum in Krakow, the State Ethnographic Museum in Warsaw, the Polish Museum in Rapperswil (Switzerland), the Association “Literary Institute of Culture in Le Meny-le-Roi” (France) and Polish library in London.<\/p>\n

“Vincenz was in love with the Hutsul region and considered the people living here to be people doomed to freedom. Regardless of their nationality, he called everyone brothers.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

– said Jan Andrzej Khoroshyi.<\/p>\n

After the presentation in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the exhibition will travel across Ukraine from Kyiv to the village of Kryvorivnya, Verkhovyna District, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, the Hutsul capital of Ukraine. \u201cOn the High Uplands\u201d is devoted to the Hutsul region. It will be exhibited on a permanent basis in Kryvorivnia.<\/p>\n

The exhibition about Vincenz will be the first “brick” in the creation of the Center for Intercultural Dialogue named after Stanis\u0142aw Vincenz – a cultural institution of the 21st century, which will open its doors to the first visitors in Kryvorivna in 2020.<\/p>\n

The event was also attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to Ukraine Jan Peklo, the Deputy Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, the head of the Polish-Ukrainian group of the Senate and Sejm of the Republic of Poland Beata Mazurek, as well as other members of the Polish-Ukrainian group of the Senate and Sejm of the Republic of Poland, who are on an official visit to the Ukrainian Parliament.<\/p>\n

On the Ukrainian side, the event was organized by the NGO “All-Ukrainian Democratic Forum” with the assistance of the Committee on Culture and Spirituality. On the Polish side, by the Institute of Polish Philology of the University of Wroclaw. The exposition should reveal to the Ukrainian audience the figure of the outstanding Polish writer and philosopher.<\/p>\n
