On February 4, students of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy had the opportunity to improve their media literacy at an open lecture by Ukrainian journalist and publicist Vitaliy Portnykov.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Lectures within the framework of the project “The Fourth Estate: Influence, Challenges, Responsibility” have already been held in Kharkiv, Odesa, Ostroh, Dnipro and Vinnytsia. The final lecture of the project was held in the media center of the Mohyla School of Journalism. In total, about 80 future journalists, students of other faculties and teachers gathered to listen to Vitaliy Portnykov. It was also possible to ask questions to the lecturer.<\/p>\n

The main goal of the lecture is to improve the quality, objectivity, non-involvement of media content and, as a result, to increase the level of critical thinking and objectivity of assessments of information and events by Ukrainians.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Based on the lecture, a television version will be produced, which will be shown on the air of the media partner of the project – the Espreso TV channel.<\/p>\n

The event was organized by the NGO “All-Ukrainian Democratic Forum” with the support of the Media Development Fund of the US Embassy in Ukraine. Organizational partner – Mohyla School of Journalism. The media partner of the event is Espreso TV channel.<\/p>\n
