Sharygina (1937\u20132004). The first part of the book presents a selection of the author’s inspired journalistic and methodical-didactic articles, in which the reader’s attention is drawn to the special and irreplaceable role of geometry in the overall cultural, creative-intellectual, and emotional-aesthetic development of a person. Numerous specific recommendations to teachers and education leaders to improve the teaching of geometry at school are substantiated. In the second part, the collection of “500 geometric problems” is presented, which represents an unbiased and unmasked by optimistic propaganda, the author’s measure of the real standards of school geometric training at three educational levels – low, medium and high. Solutions and methodical comments are added to the problems. Therefore, each student can from time to time “try on” this standard and make appropriate adjustments to his training, and each teacher can measure the achieved learning results of his students.
