This week, three Lviv schools received 30 laptops and 10 sets of robotics free of charge as part of the Ukrainian-Taiwanese charity project “Leave no one behind partnership”. This became possible thanks to the successful participation of student teams in entrepreneurship and innovation camps. In total, schoolchildren from 69 educational institutions of the Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and Poltava regions have already acquired new knowledge and received certificates for the technical equipment of school computer science rooms.<\/p>\n
“We held 21 two-day educational camps on entrepreneurship and innovation. Each time, these are new ideas and business projects. They are created by teenagers. This is how they master the canvas of business models, the art of negotiations, learn to calculate results and predict risks. And they also acquire equipment for their schools. Computer science teachers from 20 schools improved their qualifications at UCU under a separate educational program. About a hundred educational institutions, we will hand over 1,193 Taiwanese laptops, robots and projectors with screens,” says project coordinator Ulyana Pak.<\/p>\n
Liliya Bolovchak is a high school student of Lviv School No. 73. She is passionate about history and leads student government, and recently attended an entrepreneurship and innovation camp with her peers. Their school has already received ten modern sets of robotics.<\/p>\n
“We were interested in studying entrepreneurship, besides, we joined the project out of altruistic intentions. We really wanted something new to appear in our school. In the 11th grade, we won’t have time to work with new robots. But for me, for example, it would be interesting in my school years to deal with all these sensors, boards, and understand how a robot works. It’s wonderful that children now have such an opportunity,” says the camp participant. entrepreneurship.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Approximately 50% of school graduates who know mathematics well each year choose technical specialties, especially those related to the IT field. Tetyana Skabara, director of secondary comprehensive school No. 90 in Lviv, emphasizes this trend. Future programmers and engineers acquire the basis of knowledge at school, make efforts together with teachers, compete in Olympiads and competitions.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“For high-quality education, the modern material base of the school and the team of teachers who have technology and modern teaching tools are important. The teacher encourages the children, first of all, by his own example. The teachers of our school applied for advanced training at UKU, so far we managed to participate in the Ukrainian-Taiwanese project in the direction of student education. We will apply again if the training of teachers continues. This is a good experience and a chance to modernize the school,” Tetyana explains. Scabara\u00a0<\/p>\n
The innovative education and computerization project “Leave no one behind partnership” is implemented by the NGO “All-Ukrainian Democratic Forum” with the support of Taiwan and with the assistance of People’s Deputy Mykola Kniazhytskyi, who attracted charitable assistance.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“Everything innovative must start at school. The one who is smarter is stronger; the one who has the latest inventions and developments wins. We live in a difficult time when many people do not believe in the future. And we believe and invest efforts in the development of education. Taiwan helps us teach Ukrainian children entrepreneurship, provides Ukrainian schools with computers. This gives hope to children and their parents. Educators will be able to work with technology and teach our children according to the latest methods.
