On December 4, 2022, as part of the International Forum of Central and Eastern Europe Via Carpatia “Culture: Tested by War” at the Frank House in Lviv, a presentation of the Ukrainian translation of Stanis\u0142aw Vincenz’s book “Dialogues with the Soviets” took place (“Apriori” publishing house, translation by Oles Gerasim, foreword by Andriy Pavlyshyn)<\/strong><\/p>\n

“The outstanding Polish writer Stanis\u0142aw Vincenz wrote his book after the Second World War in exile. In it, he recreated and reflected on his experience in 1939-1941 – the arrival of the “Soviets”, his arrest as a representative of the “class enemy” (the Vincenz family owned a small business), his release from prison in Stanislaviv (modern Ivano-Frankivsk), mass appeals fellow villagers \u2014 Ukrainian villagers, fleeing across the border to Hungary, military wanderings…<\/em>“, he says the author of the foreword is Andriy Pavlyshyn<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

“Dialogues with the Soviets” by Stanis\u0142aw Vincenz was translated by the famous Lviv translated by Oles Gerasim<\/strong> – relevant for our present.<\/p>\n

“Stanis\u0142aw Vincenz was a very interesting figure – he was in love with ancient culture and Hutsul region, which became the background and central image of his tetralogy “On the High Uplands”,<\/em> – adds Mr. Oles Gerasim.<\/p>\n

The book was published with the assistance of a People’s Deputy of Ukraine Mykola Kniazhytskyi and NGO “All-Ukrainian Democratic Forum”.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
