Ukrainian theatre director and actor, People’s Artist of Ukraine, General Director and Artistic Director of the Ivan Franko National Academic Drama Theatre in Ivano-Frankivsk.
One of the most prominent contemporary Ukrainian theatre directors, combining the national dramatic tradition with experimental stage forms. In 2019, he received the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine for his productions of Aeneid, Hamlet and She-Earth, and the theatrical art project Oscar and the Lady in Pink. He founded the international performing arts festival Time for Theatre, and his productions have repeatedly won Ukraine’s leading theatre awards.
